Antique iron padlock with brass cover and two beard keys

This sturdy padlock has the appearance of traditional locks and hinges as they were once used on wooden chests, pantries, shutters, and doors. The gray metal front is constructed with visible rivets and bears clear signs of age and use.

A sliding brass plate covers the keyhole. This small detail gives the lock its distinctive historical appearance and protects the keyhole from dirt. Sliding the plate to the side reveals the classic keyhole.

The lock comes with two long beard keys. The keys are attached to the lock with small metal rings to keep them together.

Heavy-duty and visibly constructed design

From the side, you can clearly see how the lock is assembled. The dark lock mechanism is located between the two outer metal plates. Around the bracket, part of the construction remains open, allowing the straight leg of the bracket to run visibly toward the mechanism.

The rough edges of the plates, irregular shapes, scratches, and color variations are all part of this product’s charm. The lock has deliberately not been sanded smooth or repolished. It is precisely these marks that ensure each piece retains its own unique character.
